The check engine light is a light that will occur to alert you when the oxygen sensor inside your engine detects a problem with the amount of unburned oxygen that is passing through your exhaust. - Arbor Auto Works

The check engine light will come on if the gas cap is loose and is allowing the engine to discharge gasoline fumes in the air, or if the catalytic converter isn't working correctly - that could mean that your engine is producing co. This is a serious issue, and something that could make you or your passengers very ill should they breathe in the fumes within the car for an extended period of time.

It is important that you do not ignore the light if it occurs. Sometimes, the issue is minor (and fixed) but the light can be quite a sign of much more serious conditions that could be causing pollution or putting your overall health at risk.

A good garage are able to quickly run a diagnostic to determine what is wrong in your particular case, and after that advise you on how to repair. There are several components mixed up in successful combustion of fuel and how to turn that into kinetic energy - and if even one the main chain breaks down this can cause serious problems. Fixing the matter could be as simple as replacing your spark plugs or whether it's a much bigger job. Thanks to tool such as OBD II Scanners, an excellent garage can resolve the issue easily, then fix it for you and get you back while travelling immediately, confident in the knowledge that your car remains safe and secure, environmentally friendly and running and also can be. - Arbor Auto Works
